Dog-friendly Seattle Properties and Parks

Dog-friendly Seattle properties and parks

After living in Seattle for almost 20 years, one thing I have noticed is how dog/pet friendly it is. I have a couple of dogs and take them everywhere with me, people love them and welcome them any place we go. Here's some dog friendly places I recommend:

Where to Stay

If you're searching for where to stay with your dog in Seattle, you'll be glad to know that most of my Airbnb rentals are pet-friendly. Traveling with your dog shouldn't be stressful—these homes are designed to make it easy for pet owners to bring their pets along.

I've made nearly all of my Seattle vacation rentals dog-friendly Airbnbs, so you and your doggo can enjoy the city together. From cozy spaces near parks to convenient locations close to dog-friendly cafes and trails, you'll find the perfect spot to stay. In my experience, dogs who travel are usually well-behaved, which makes the stay enjoyable for everyone.

Dog-Friendly Restaurants

There's not many places that will turn away dogs in Seattle. They are generally welcome everywhere, which is very nice if you're on a walk and decide to get some food or coffee. If you're worried and want to do some pre-planning for a visit, check out this comprehensive list of dog-friendly restaurants, which will give you detailed information about pet-friendly dining options throughout the city.

Best Dog Parks in Seattle

Magnuson Park

This has to be the best dog park in Seattle. It's a local favorite for dog owners. This expansive, multi-acre park features large, fenced sections where dogs can run free (8.6 acres), plus designated areas for small dogs to play safely.

Unlike many other Seattle dog parks, Magnuson offers direct access to Lake Washington, making it a top spot if your dog loves to swim. The small/shy dog area is located just to the south of the main entrance kiosk, accessible from NE 74th street.

Highlights: 8.6 acres of off-leash space, Lake Washington access, separate small dog area, swimming opportunities

Woodland Park

This off leash park is located near Green Lake and the Woodland Park Zoo, which can be convenient. While it's not very big, it has a nice slope where dogs can really get their exercise in and has doggie drinking fountains. There is also a small/shy dog area.

Highlights: Convenient location, exercise-friendly terrain, doggie drinking fountains, separate small dog area

Northacres Park

This has really nice trails, benches, trees (shade), and open spaces for your dog to run around in. It can get a bit muddy sometimes, so come prepared to deal with it. The off-leash area is in the northeast part of the park.

Highlights: Scenic trails, plenty of shade, open running spaces, benches for relaxation

Tip: Can get muddy - bring towels for cleanup!
